I ordered this dresser first in the charcoal stain. Despite what the stain card that comes in the mail looks like, this stain is basically black stain... true to its "charcoal" name. The stain gives the dresser a contemporary look. It was not what I was expecting, and I scheduled an exchange for the Mocha stain. The exchange process was incredibly easy, and I had the replacement dresser in just over a week. (Amazing, right? R&B followed up the order with a personalized email, I expressed concern, they called and scheduled the replacement... all free.)
The mocha stain was exactly what I was hoping for. It's a rich, dark brown.
As for the dresser itself, it is solidly constructed and a pretty piece. It's about 1/2" lower than described online. The drawers all glide smoothly, there are no finish issues, and I would order from R&B again in an instant.

I waited years to find the perfect bedroom furniture, and bought the Bennett 6 drawer dresser and night stands. Where to start?? The finish is absolutely beautiful and unique, and I love walking into my bedroom. It feels like a stylish sanctuary! The drawers are large and open/close smoothly. And because it was a very close fit to get up a narrow stairway, it had to be taken apart and put back together by the deliverymen, so I actually saw the construction, which was solid and strong. I haven't been this pleased with furniture in a long, long time.
Service and delivery comments:
The delivery men were the best EVER!!! They had to get the dresser up a narrow, low stairway, and would NOT give up despite multiple attempts that were just not working. I have to admit I encouraged them, even if they had to dent the walls a bit, but they were insistent that they didn't want to do that. They were tireless in trying various ways of disassembling the piece, and finally had success!!!! They went above and beyond, and were courteous and professional. I can't say enough!!!

This is a beautifuly constructed piece that is practical and lovely to look at. It is quite large for a mid-size bedroom like ours but not too overwhelming. It's definitely the standout piece in our room. I especially love the color and the finish of the wood and that it is made here in the U.S.

This dresser and night table set were exactly what my husband and I were loooking for. The dresser is big, but not too large for our apt BR, and it's got a classic feel in a non-traditional color (shell) from a dark brown stain. I'm very happy with our purchase!

Delivery was great. They were on time, tidy and efficient. They took time to explain the R&B inspection and packaging process which ensures all items are included in the order and in great condition prior to leaving the wharehouse. Love the look of the set and the solid construction. But it looks like the top of the dresser is splitting along the grain. This was confirmed by a Room and Board technician out to repair the bad drawer glide on the matching nightstand. Not much fun paying so much for a set and have it show damage with less than one year's ownership.

This is a sturdy (and HEAVY) piece but I love it. I see this piece being with me for years. The drawers are extremely deep. I don't have enough clothes to fill the drawers! I can think of one way to solve that problem ;)

The drawer glides are a metal epoxy coated 3/4" glide. They glide easily but do not have the auto close functionality.
