Bought the walnut version of the 72" Sinclair media console with natural steel knobs. I loved the walnut and it seems pretty solid, with no wobble at all. However, there were a few issues with this console, which led me to reconsider the purchase of this piece of furniture:

1. All three knobs were partially rusted. Now I could turn it facing down so that it's not visible, but for a furniture at this price, I expected a brand-new defect free knobs.

2. The drawers made some scraping sounds when opened and closed, which sounded like it was scraping against a piece of wood.

3. While the outside was solid, high-quality Walnut, there were a few pieces of wood inside which were what appeared to be unstained solid maple. The back piece actually extends down an inch below the back piece and is highly visible across the entire furniture from the back. Granted, most people won't be seeing the back because it will be against the wall, but it really shouldn't have been visible at all.

4. Part of those maple wood inside were fastened using pocket holes. It will probably hold, but it's definitely a time-saving joinery compared to others.

5. This was the biggest one: MDF. The back piece is made of MDF, covered by walnut veneer. When I looked at the bottom of the furniture, I saw the label that mentioned this product contains MDF and was surprised, wondering which piece was made of MDF. After some searching, it was the piece of board that makes up the back of the media console. Granted, it's very thin, but I don't want *any* MDF in my furniture.

So while the furniture looks great and is sturdy, there were definitely corners cut in areas that are less visible for the Sinclair Media Console. This is a shame, because had the furniture not contained MDF, I would probably have overlooked the other faults and kept it.

We purchased this piece to go below our TV. It holds our components and looks great in the room. This is my new favorite piece and store.

We bought this piece to accommodate a 70" tv... Not my choice....but this makes the tv blend in better with our new "grown up" living area(the children have the rest of the house) and is even attractive too.
