The finish on the wood is amazing. I did purchase a piece of glass to put over the top to protect it though. A good suggestion if you have cats that like to climb on things.

This dresser is the best. My previous dresser had 7 drawers so I was primarily interested in getting a dresser that had the smaller drawers at the top with the deeper drawers below them. When I purchased this dresser, I didn't think I'd need 10 drawers, but it is so great to have the ample space. My clothes are no longer cramped into the drawers, and I can actually take things out and put things in the drawers without any trouble at all.
The construction is solid, the drawers slide like a dream, and the steel pulls are easy to operate. I am completely thrilled with this piece.

This is a good drawer chest, but the media cabinet (there is a large wire opening in the back) isn't practical and makes it look unbalanced. Basically, there is no way of putting a TV (would be microscopic) or anything electronic in there because it would have to be open for remote control to work, and it doesnt look good opened.
