Customer comments about Linear 29h 74w Media Cabinet with Wood Base:
stunning cabinet; very well made; I thought it might be too high for a TV, but its perfect; only reason for 4 stars is that the doors came with stainless steel doors instead of black metal, as ordered; delivery crew immediately made calls to order replacement doors; should be in soon; TV controller works fine through the doors; room looks great without all the TV parts / wire mess; overall very happy

Customer comments about Linear 29h 74w Media Cabinet with Wood Base:
Overall i'm pretty happy with this item, so i'll list my complaints mostly.
First if you've never seen these items realize it will look like its straight out of the lumber yard. I mostly new this but i think they need a way to make a stronger, more durable finish while keeping the elegance of the wood. The design is simple and straight forward, my dad and I (ok my dad mostly) built some in custom in wall shelves nearby and people assume we built this item as well because the finish looks so similar (and i haven't gotten around to staining the shelves).
The item is too tall not to have an option for a 3rd level/shelf. It's too much wasted space with only one shelve in the middle, i thought about making another one but it seems i'd have to unscrew the door hinges or knock off the nailed in back piece (it would be nice if they could come up with a removable method).
I almost had to return this unit because it's not very deep. I have an Arcam receiver that the cables touch in the back and it almost touches the volume knob when i close the door (i keep it at a slight angle and shoved it in so the volume knob can still rotate). Anyone with a big amp can probably not get it in here.
Note if you're running anything with a loud fan (aka game system) it will sound extra noisy in here, i haven't thought yet how to quiet it down.
The mesh doors look nice but it can be hard to read anything through it, like the volume level etc on your components.
The doors are all at a slight angle (i guess hard to make perfect) so the seams when looking at them are not 100% uniform. My wife who rarely complains about anything said something about it...so it is definitely noticeable.
Note: it came down to this or a BDI Avion stand, but i felt those look a bit too press board-y for those prices. Like i said, i'm extra picky but overall pretty happy.

Great piece without bulk, beautiful walnut finish and with the tin fronts you can use any remote to access your equipment. has larger shelf for center speaker as well.

Customer comments about Linear 24h 40w Media Cabinet with Wood Base:
I was very unhappy with the oil and wax finish. The wood looked dry, unfinished and dull. In addition, there were black fingerprints all over the top. The back was stabled sloppy. I must admit I was not aware that the oil and wax finish was supposed to look like this. I would choose a lacquer finish in the future.
Service and delivery comments:
The delivery was on time and the men were courteous. However there were black fingerprints all over the top of the cabinet.
I called Room and Board and was treated very fairly and was encouraged to either return the piece, spend $50.00 more and get a lacquer finish, and buy their Satin Wax cleaner, which I did, and all the black fingerprints came off completely after using the product. I would definitely buy another product from Room and Board, but never a oil and wax finish, which is no finish at all!
