I have a large cigar pendant hanging in the corner of the small living room in our funky 1958 ranch home. It's lovely! The scale is unexpected in a small space, and it puts out a lovely, warm, soft light. I wanted one of these for years, and I'm so glad I finally made the investment. We didn't hard wire it, so it is extremely easy to install and move (for cleaning and painting walls!)

My husband added a dimmer to the switch, which makes it even better! I would recommend the Nelson light to anyone with mid century modern or contemporary taste. Classic piece!

We have a small space and didn't want to commit to hard wiring. So we took the lamp to an electrician who installed a switch. It was easy and affordable to do. The lamp looks beautiful in a corner of our living room, but now we can easily relocate the lamp if we redecorate or move.

We've always admired the G. Nelson lighting. And, when we saw the lights at Room & Board--with a promotion nonetheless--we ordered the medium cigar pendant for the landing on our stairwell going downstairs. The space made installation trickier than usual, but otherwise a standard install. We also found a bulb with the recommended wattage was too bright for us/our space; the cigar seemed to glow a bit. We went with a lower wattage and the light immediately warmed the space as intended. A contractor walking downstairs with a pipe hit the lamp by accident, and cleaning the fabric can be tricky; we weren't sure how much pressure we could apply to clean the area AND not leave a mark on the fabric (over cautious, we ultimately succeeded in cleaning the area, but you need patience).It's taken 1.5 years to find a light for that area, and EVERYONE who sees it comments on its beautiful, clean, simple lines and the ways it compliments the space. We couldn't agree more.

Luckily I have long arms otherwise I don't know if I could reach the bulb. But not a real problem because you don't have to change light bulbs very often.

This pendant is even more stunning in person. I absolutely adore the design and it blends perfectly even with our classical kitchen table. It is truly timeless and adds a much-needed focal point to our larger kitchen. It hangs in front of a large picture window and when you approach our home you can see this fabulous light. I can't say enough great things about it. Super easy to install....lightweight and delicate which would be a concern if it was in an area where people would be touching it often. I'm glad we put it over the kitchen table rather than as a standing lamp for that reason alone.

This looks so nice hanging from my high ceilings in a hallway above my spiral staircase. The item is very solid, despite the fact that it may look lightweight online. I have several chandeliers in my apartment but everyone always comments on this one. They love it. It's great if you set it to a dimmer!

I have two very tall, vertical open spaces enclosed by huge windows. I wanted a modern, elegant and simple lamp to fill these spaces with warm and welcoming light. The Nelson Cigar Pendant fit the bill perfectly. Given that one of the two spaces is over 25' tall, and both areas are open and visible to each other, two large pendants worked perfectly together. And since access to the bulb is through the circular opening in the bottom, it is possible to change it easily using a long pole. I love these lights and bought their smaller brother in the standing ("Lotus") version for my den -- the perfect match up to the Encore sofa.
