We love this table. Its not at all wobbly in the 36" size (as reviews I had read said). It looks great, is easy to clean, and works wonderfully for us as a table in our kitchen.

Customer comments about Aria 42r Dining Table:

Table is beautiful, exactly what I envisioned for my kitchen. After one weekend of light use (just a few family meals around the table) we decided it had to go back. The wobbling is out of control and I feared one of my 2 children would flip it. The base is not heavy/sturdy enough to support the 42" top. Its going back. I ordered the Portica Round Table in the same finish in hopes it will be more stable.

        Service and delivery comments:

Room and Board always delivers excellent customer and delivery service. Customer service representative is coordinating my return pick up and delivery of replacement table. I have no doubt the return will be as easy as the delivery.

Customer comments about Aria 42r Dining Table:

I ordered this table with the stainless base and 42" maple top with shell stain. It is amazing!!! I have been looking for a 42" round table for some time and had a hard time finding one that would go with our dark wood floors and dark wood cabinets. I was hesitant to add more wood into the room. The Shell stain color is perfect. It compliments the wood in the room, but stands out. It has beautiful gray/taupe/bluish tones to it that compliment my decor. I have had the table for a few days and it is super easy to clean. We do use placemats, but I have two small children who don't keep everything on them. Food and drink spills wipe up easily and don't stain. I can't wait to order more quality products from Room and Board

          Service and delivery comments:

Customer service was amazing. I talked to the nicest gal on the phone when ordering the table. She followed up with me personally after the table was delivered. I only had to wait 3 weeks for the table, and they called and delivered exactly when they said they wood. The delivery guys were helpful too, including putting felt pads on the bottom of the table for me.

Bought the 47" round in a Walnut top/stainless base. The table wobbles/bounces, even as I'm typing this comment! This is certainly a design flaw as I'm not the only one complaining about the wobbling/bouncing. This table needs a weighted bottom or longer bars to keep the top stable and prevent bouncing. I am not a designer/engineer and I have figured this much out. If I sound mad about this, I am. I really love this table but cannot live with it. I am surprised that R & B released this product without fully testing of this size top.

I am returning this table because it is not functional.

Customer comments about Aria 42r Dining Table:

This table works beautifully in its space, a smallish, bay-windowed kitchen eating area with four large-ish parsons chairs. We were a little concerned, based on the online photos, that the stainless steel pedestal might look a bit institutional, but it's actually quite handsome, and reflects the warm colors in the room. Most importantly, it solves our space problem by making it easy to move the chairs around and seat four people without tangling with table legs.
The cherry butcher block top is quite nice to look at and feels solid. It's finely finished with some kind of satiny coating that's impervious to spills but still very natural-looking.
And, to top it off, it was so nice to have it delivered by careful and competent professionals, already assembled and ready to use!

                  Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt and at the promised time. Product was in fine condition.

                    Hello.
Will the 36r fit 4 people for eating? Planning on building a banquette for 2 with 2 chairs. I think the space I have is too small for 42r but want to make sure 4 could dine at the 36r.

We have a wooden top that scratches incredibly easily (setting something... practically anything on it). Is there anything we can do to protect it? It's too expensive of a table to have it look beat up after a couple of months of light use.

                      A:

You should always use coasters and placemats to avoid scratching your solid wood table top. In addition, the best way to preserve the surface and the finish is to clean using only a soft cloth slightly damp with water and a gentle detergent. Never leave moisture sitting on the surface, and protect the wood with citrus oil (such as lemon oil). For additional care information, please visit our Product Care page.

Depending on how level the flooring surface the table base is sat on; there is always a potential that a table can wobble. We don't charge a delivery fee for returns or exchanges . However, original delivery charges are not refundable.

                    Q:

I am interested in the Aria 48r dining table, but in reading the reviews, all of the customers who purchases this specific size have stated that table is wobbly. Before I make the investment, I would like to know if the wobbiness for 48r or larger has been fixed. It appears from the reviews the smaller size diameter tables do not have this issue. Thank you.

As long as the surface the table is placed on is level you should not have any issues with wobbling.

Hi there - previously, there was a Q & A on the potential for scratches on the painted MDF white top. Are the wood tops as easily vulnerable to scratches as the white painted top? Can we get a marble, stone, or corian top to this?

                      A:

Like our MDF white tops, our wood tops can scratch if not properly cared for. We recommend using adhesive felt pads, trivets, coasters and placemats to help prevent scratches. No, we do not offer any stone tops for the Aria dining table collection.

Can you provide specifics on the laminate / MDF tabletops? What is the thickness of the outermost layer (the surface layer that is bonded to the MDF)? Is it warranteed against scratching and staining?

                      A:

The mdf table tops have a painted, not a laminate, finish. The paint is sealed with lacquer to protect the finish. Scratches are possible and we do not warranty against them. Minor scratches in the lacquer come with everyday use and place mats and coasters are recommended. Scratching through the paint won't happen readily but rough or sharp heavy objects or bumps in moving can impact any painted finish.

                      A:

We encourage you to be thoughtful about your purchase and ask these questions. The Aria table is made stainless steel that is spun and formed into its base shape. There is always a potential that a table can wobble. One possible cause for this is how level the floor surface the table base is being placed on. With a pedestal style base that can be more challenging to correct when the design has a continuous round base surface concentrated in one location. The underside does include a few attached rubber glides to assist with traction and help protect the floor surface. We currently do not have plans to change the construction of the table as its simple design and high quality materials has been successful for the majority of our customers. We'll always be honest and share what we know so that you can make the best decision.

At 18" wide, the Jake chair is a good solution for a smaller table. 4 Jake chairs will fit around a 36" round Aria table.

A table top is made from several boards so a variation in the grain and color is natural but drastic color differences wouldn't be expected. We'd be happy to talk more about this and find solutions if you would contact us directly at 800.301.9720 or shop@roomandboard.com.
