The Avery, and all of our beds, are designed as a mattress only bed frame. The slat system supports the mattress. Adding a box spring to the bed would decrease how much of the headboard is shown and might make is a bit high for accessing daily.

Hi Room & Board,
Could you please give me the measurement from the floor to the lower platform of the bed? I'm trying to understand how high off the floor this bed will be after we put our mattress on it. I'm assuming it will be about 25 inches, but I'd like to know the exact dimension.
