We saw this lamp in the store and liked the simple design for our bedside. However, once we set it up, the light seemed too harsh and was difficult to easily reach from the bed to turn off because you have to reach to the top to turn the switch. It needs a dimmer to reduce the glare. It's too bad we had to return the lamps but Room & Board made the process easy for us.

This is a nice looking lamp, but I was disappointed with the quality. The lamp base and stem were crooked. I exhanged it for another, and the second lamp was the same. I exchanged it again and again; the fourth lamp is not perfect, but is the best of the four. I decided to keep it because I could not find another lamp that I liked as well. I hope Room & Board will alert manufacturer of this lamp to improve their quality control or find another manufacturer who provides higher quality products (even if it costs more). I would recommend this lamp with the caveat that the quality is not up to Room & Board's usual standards.

This lamps gives an excellent light for reading and works very well as an accent side lamp.
The only thing needed from the instructions was the indication of how to find the on-off switch, disguised in the lamp.

This little lamp is GREAT! I purchased one and liked it so much that I purchased another, and if I can find a use for more I will get them. At first I couldn't figure out how to turn it on, then discovered that the top of the lamp post turns and is the switch. It is great not having a switch in the electric cord. With the CFL bulb it makes a great soft reading lamp and is energy efficient.
