Wanted to store books in my living room . . . yet wanted to maintain a contemporary, uncluttered look. The glass shelves and steel frame are contemporary . . . and unused portions of the glass shelves add to an uncluttered look. Delivery service was outstanding. Staff were ahead of schedule and called me on my cell phone a few hours in advance of arrival. They assembled the shelves swiftly. (If I ever decided to move . . . would I ever be able to find movers who would pack and handle the shelves as carefully?) I spent more than I had ever spent for some shelves . . . and it was well worth it!

There are other glass/metal bookshelves out there for a lower price but this one is very high quality. I didn't want something wobbly and since it's in my living room, I wanted something really nice.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was quick and so easy. There was no assembly. The shelving unit was preassembled and the delivery guys placed it where I wanted it and took away all the packaging. No complaints!

The unit is handsome, it almost disappears due to its slim steel supports and glass shelves, and it provides plenty of light to enhance the objects on display. We secured it to the wall with a 1-1/2" C clamp that is unnoticeable.

I put this in the apartment of a single, hard-working doctor who wanted style without feeling fussy. The shelves are made and forged in the USA which we both loved. They work great because they both blend in and don't feel obtrusive while also offering sleek, clean lines. I always try to add different elements and textures into a room and these shelves were perfect combo of glass and metal without being too mod or contemporary. Simple and elegant. My client loved them. Probably would think twice about them if there were kids around. We bought 3 of them and they are quite pricey but hopefully they will stay with my client for a long time.

Great delivery. The product came built and ready to set in place. Always have good luck working with Room and Board. Sometimes things take a while to be made and delivered but you are always made aware of the time line up front.

Q:
How much weight can each glass shelf hold? I need additional storage in my kitchen and so would use this for stacks of dishes, serving pieces, cook books, my Kitchen Aid mixer, coffee machine, utensils, pots/pans and pantry items (cans, spice rack, etc.).
