My wife and I recently purchased this glider for our nursery. We have a similar style of R&B furniture in our living room and were pleasantly surprised to find this chair priced roughly in the middle of other options at other stores. But the quality is heads above. Especially the swivel. It is multi-directional and takes very little effort to turn and rock, but it's tight enough so that it takes no effort to keep it still.

So far we love it. Once the baby comes maybe we'll update how easy it is to clean. But if it's like our living room set, which had a half botlle of wine spilled on it and you'd never know, it should fare pretty well.

I have a 3wk old daughter and we purchased this for her nursery. It's great for "rocking" and feeding her on. Very pleased with the product. We purchased the "Doe" color with the idea that this would be a piece in our home long after we need to rock her...And with a baby blanket draped over it, it's completely appropriate in a nursery now.

The chair is affordable, comfortable, and looks great. BUT the finishing touches at the base of the chair seem a bit off, the fabric isn't tied down completely and the chair squeaks and kind of pops a little when rocking.

The chair has terrible off-gassing. The stench is still bad after having the chair for over a month. I have opened the windows everyday to air out the room, but the chair still has an odor. I am especially disappointed, as this is for a baby's room.

We have had this chair for 6 years now. I still use it for nursing our youngest. My husband does not like it for giving bottles as the arms on the chair are too high for him to rest his elbow on. He's average height, and I can see his point. We use a pillow under the elbow for resting our arms. It has been out in the living room where our two older children sit side-by-side. We have washed the seat cover many times, and it has held up well. Wish I could do that to the rest of the chair...It is looking pretty grimy now. It has also developed a squeak in its old age. I'm sure some WD40 would help with that.

The Carter Glider chair is fantastic! My husband and I spent a lot of time looking at different options and were pleasantly surprised to find this one: a comparatively affordable option that also looked good. It was recommended to me by a co-worker after hearing me complain about how expensive gliders are. Most gliders I had seen so far were either uncomfortable, or looked like something that belongs at my grandma's. And they were so expensive! This one is stylish and comfortable and much less than others out there. I only wish it were a bit less bulky, as it takes a lot of space in the room.

I do want to spend a minute on comfort. This chair is amazing!!! I bought this for the baby's room when I was pregnant and as I was getting progressively bigger, I got progressively more uncomfortable. Sleeping through the night was impossible. In comes the Carter Glider. I actually spent several nights sleeping in the glider with my feet propped up on the ottoman. It's an incredibly comfortable experience. I love that I could rock myself to sleep (great for those insomnia nights) AND the back support was amazing. My friends (and sometimes my husband) thought I was crazy to sleep in the glider, but all I know is that I was comfortable, and when you're in the 8th month of pregnancy, comfort is paramount.

I would buy this chair even if I wasn't expecting. It is so comfortable and a great investment.

Service and delivery comments:

Excellent customer service:
- Prompt delivery and I got a phone call with a delivery window + a confirmation the day before of the delivery window.
- The product arrived in excellent condition. The seating cushion seemed to not touch the back of the chair. I called customer service and they immediately dispatched a representative to check out the chair in person at no cost. The service was almost immediate, certainly in the same week. The good news was that the seating cushion was a bit overstuffed and because of that it looked bulkier and like it wasn't reaching the back of the chair. I was told that the cushion would soften over the next 3 months, but to call them if I didn't see improvement.
