With an hour to kill while in Chicago we stopped at R&B to check out some furniture for our kitchen/dining room remodel. Ideally we wanted stools made in our home state of Vermont, but hadn't found any we liked.

We knew immediately when we saw these that they were exactly what we needed. They are very comfortable and sturdy without being bulky. It was also important that we could get colors that fit with our kitchen/dining room; we went with the black finish with the grey fabric seats. Imagine our surprise when we saw the label that said they were made in Vermont!

Our only complaint is that part of the reason for wanting something made close to home was to reduce the transportation footprint. In fact, they had to travel from less than an hour and a half from our house, out to Minnesota and then back to Vermont :-(

But, we would do it again because they were exactly what we wanted.

We purchased 5 of these counter stools to go around a very large island in our kitchen. They were a great choice. They are comfortable and very modern looking. The only bummer? The black color shows a lot of dust especially where people sit with their feet. We don't allow shoes in the house, but we do have two cats that create a lot of fur, dander and dust bunnies --- all of which show up against the black.

These are terrific chairs. I highly recommend them. My two year old loves them too! They are very well constructed and solid, and yet elegant. They are great for surrounding a kitchen island.

Excellent quality and craftsmanship. Was delivered with non-scratch pads already attached to the bottoms of the legs. Highly recommended.

Love these counter chairs...they are comfortable and I can sit on them for hours on end. Only complaint is that they hurt the soles / heels of my feet if I rest them on the stool's foot rest for too long. Other than that, they are the perfect complement for the butcher block kitchen / dining countertop in our apartment!

We were originally planning on getting the Cherner barstool in walnut, but then we found this chair at Room & Board. While the Cherner is a beautiful chair, its legs are a little bit too close together. Also, the leather seat on the Doyle barstool is a plus in terms of comfort. They go really well with our decor and we're very happy with them.
