After having two of these nightstands for a month, I'm generally happy with them. The drawers work well, and the construction, wood and finish are solid -- what you'd expect from Room & Board. Also, the slim width works well if you're trying to maximize space. My only complaint with the design is that I wish the bottom opening were large enough to hold books upright. (I knew it wouldn't be able to when I bought it, but went with these because they were thinner than other options and that trumped upright books.)
My one suggestion / complaint is: be careful to make sure the nightstands are stable when they're delivered. I picked mine up at the warehouse and didn't check, then got them home only to discover that one leg on one of the nightstands was too short and it rocked to one corner. (Yes, all the bumpers were on the legs and I tried it on many different surfaces -- the simple fact was that one leg was too short.) R&B was great about the exchange, though.

I bought this piece in the walnut finish. The lines of the piece and the color of the finish are beautiful. However, the finish faded within a year to a light, yellowish-brown color (almost the color of the cherry option).
Additionally, the finish stains extremely easily. If a drop of water lands on it even for a few seconds, it will leave a permanent white mark.
Finally, during the second year of ownership, the drawer glides on two of the drawers broke off.
This piece does not get heavy wear in my place, so the problems really should not have happened.
I wish this piece was more durable, since it really is beautiful.

Service and delivery comments:
Ordered online and was told delivery within 10 days. Then was called and offered delivery in 24 days. Not acceptable. Debating whether to cancel the order.

We use the piece as one of two bedside tables; it looks clean and serves its purpose. I would have given it a 5 of 5 stars if there was a pre-drilled hole on the top shelf. The lack of a hole on the top shelf makes using the shelf for electronics more difficult and gives a messy look.
