Fabric seems very sturdy. Holds shape well, so far. Doesn't attract dirt. Comfy to sit and lounge on. Great value.
The drawback of most formal chairs and sofas (we have the matching sofa too) is that they are very large. For each unit of sitting surface, you waste lots of floor space. Also, by being upholstered all around, they hide their frames; if the frames were designed to be attractive hardwood, that would be preferable. But that style of chair is not easily available in large sofas and matching chairs.
