I deliberated a while between this and a wood top version for use in our home office. The table top finish is easy to clean and the legs durable; it's design blends well within our exiting room decor without looking overly contemporary.

The customer service at Room & Board were a fine example of what a great company represents. We had a few minor concerns and they were happy to replace the product. We did not feel that this was necessary and truly love our table. It completes our contemporary and sophisticated living space.

Lovely neutral color, very sturdy, forgot to close some windows 1 week ago ,papers got drenched the wood top is perfect did not warp on the exposed side
I can have 6 people sitted for meetings or dinners.
The wood feels cool while as cold as marble and the legs do not wooble, in my prewar bulding with uneven floors.

Love this table- It is substantial and you can dress it up or dress it down. The glass top is durable- I had caterers come with chafing dishes- and the entire party i was worried someone would scratch it- and it stood up to the test.

Customer comments about Rand 72x36 Table/Desk:

I love this table. It was the only one we could find that both my husband and I could totally agree on. It is a beautiful piece that really brought sophistication into our dining room. The materials and construction are great, I couldn't ask for more! We went against suggestion and have the frosted gray glass top. It is stunning, though we just have to be very careful whenever we do eat on it as the finish seems like it could stain with oils. The gray glass is probably more ideal for desks, not dining, but we just couldn't help ourselves. Now if we only had money left over to buy chairs.....

            Service and delivery comments:

The delivery was right on time after giving 24 hours notice, which is great! They were very careful not to damage anything and were very courteous.

LOVE THIS! The Rand is such a cool looking table base. We topped this off with a white quartz for our contemporary dining room. It looks "clean" and goes well with many dining chair options. One of my favorite pieces from R&B!

              • Rand 72x36 Table/Desk

                Q:

                Several questions
Is the brown granite top still available -- it is listed in the catalog

Is it possible to get a sample of the table top material prior to purchase?

what is the difference between honed granite and polished granite from a durability perspective?
Asked on 3/6/2014 by Katie from Suburban Philadelphia

                1 answer

                • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

                  A:

The brown granite was discontinued at the end of 2013 and is no longer available.
You can order samples of the table top materials here:
                  http://sitesearch.roomandboard.com/?tp=full&search=top+sample
Honed and polished granite are equally durable although honed granite has the reputation of showing stains easier. In either case, spills should be cleaned up right away to avoid stains.
