This unit is perfect for my 50" flat-panel TV and components. It is far more solid and balanced than I imagined (it was not available in the showroom). Wires are rendered invisible by using black conduit and along the uprights and zip ties along the horizontal-- it now looks clean and uncluttered.
From a design perspective, it blends with the rest of my decor without dominating the room.
I had virtually no off-gassing, and I'm highly sensitive to odors. I couldn't be happier with this purchase, or with R&B's customer service.

I was amazed just how difficult it is to find home theater display/storage consoles that aren't hideously ugly and overpriced. A lot of mass market furniture makers aren't paying attention to what's going on with media components nowadays and the fact that walls often have air vents. Room&Board's Slim Media Console offers a great sleek look for a great price. And the other Slim components make perfect coordinating side and coffee tables. R&B's customer service [...] is outstanding, too.

This unit took 2 weeks to offgass! If you are sensitive to odors, this is not a good fit for you unless you put it in the garage for a month before use.

This table holds all of our stereo components and the DirecTV box easily. It does not take up much space and does not dominate the room, but rather blends in nicely as it does its job. It also holds our 40" LCD TV easily. I really cannot think of any cons, unless you want a media stand with doors, but I don't mind having the components showing.

My flat screen TV looks great on this console! It is much more substaintial in person than photo. Go for the larger size!! It's a great piece to display pics, artwork, books, ect. Be careful when cleaning, finish will chip on legs with dry dusting.
