An excellent dining room chair. Sometimes I wonder if the chair would be more comfortable if it had more support across the back. It depends how you sit, so try for yourself. I found it more comfortable and more aesthetically pleasing than the Afton, and have not regreted my choice in the least.

We were looking to buy 8 - 10 chairs, which quickly begins to add up! We picked these because the wood was a perfect match for our dining table (purchased elsewhere). They are comfortable, elegant, simple, and fit the bill from a cost perspective. We are very happy with the chairs and the service we received from R&B! They can be dressed up or down based on table top choices.

We bought 4 Doyle chairs in Walnut. The wood is beautiful and the chairs are very comfortable. They make a great dining chair and we would recommend them.

However, there seems to be an issue with the construction (or perhaps assembly) of the chairs. There is a gapping problem in the area where the seat connects with the back of the chair. Some of the corners have more spacing than others. I am attaching a picture of a flush corner and one with gapping. The difference is relatively minor but noticeable. The first set of 4 chairs we received had more significant gapping and construction issues so we asked for an exchange. The most recent ones we received have less of a gapping issue (as shown by the pictures). This may be due to the fact that the chairs are handmade and the issue is unavoidable. It's not a dealbreaker for us and we plan to keep this set of chairs, but people should be aware of this issue or at least make sure to request that R&B pay careful attention to the assembly of your particular chairs.

We should also note that the R&B associate we have been working with has been gracious and helpful in attempting to resolve this issue and replacing the initial set of chairs we received.

Our dining table is 7' long and the Doyle is streamlined to fit 8 chairs around this table. Having 8 chairs was a requirement, and other R&B dining chairs (which we loved) were too wide. Also, Doyle construction is top quality and the walnut is stunning.

I just received my four Doyle chairs via UPS. They are very comfortable to sit on and wonderful visually. They make a great addition to my dining room...now need to schedule a dinner party to show them off.

I tried these chairs out initially during a trip to LA - can't wait for the Room and Board to open
here in Boston so I can check out all the great furniture at R+B as the west coast is a bit far away.

These chairs are solid, and even without a cushion are still quite comfortable for long periods of time. They brought a much more adult look to the room, and are simple elegance.

I purchased 4 Doyle side chairs in Cherry to go with my 60"x36" Parsons dining table with Cherry butcherblock top and I couldn't be happier. Even without a cushion, the chairs are extremely comfortable, and I feel like I could sit in them for hours. We've had them for a week so far and the wood has begun to age into a more strawberry color that matches the table. I think I might get two of the arm chairs to put at the ends of the table!

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery team arrived at the beginning of my two-hour window and were quick with the set up. All items were probably wrapped in furniture pads/bubble wrap, and they took all packaging materials with them when they left.
