Customer comments about Ella Queen Bed:

Its a great solid bed. It is hard to make due the mattress fitting down inside the bed frame and my mattress does not cover the edges even tho its a queen bed. So the frame is little bit bigger than my mattress. Other than that its worth the price and is a great addition!

Customer comments about Ella Queen Bed:

Great bed, but there is some space b/w the mattress and the base - it doesn't bother me too much, but almost has the look of a fold-out, when you look by the base - toward the headboard. Also, needs to be vacuumed frequently, but that's probably the case with most upholstered beds. Regardless, so far, we love it.

Customer comments about Ella Queen Bed:

We love this bed. It's very solid and heavy, and doesn't squeak or wobble like our previous bed. We use it without a box spring and have a fairly deep mattress and the height is perfect, even though we worried it might be a bit low. We have a mattress we bought elsewhere, which doesn't fit the R&B bed perfectly, so I highly recommend buying the platform bed boards that R&B sells so that you don't see the bed slats. With the boards under the mattress, this bed looks perfect. The angled back is perfect for sitting up to read a book or watch some TV in bed. Overall an awesome piece of furniture.

Beautiful bed!! Comfortable, clean design, great craftmanship. I can see a the rails on the corners when the duvet is pulled back which is odd i think (hence 4 stars). But when the bed is made, you can't see them so it works for us. love it!! and it is more comfortable now that our box spring is gone - go figure.

Customer comments about Ella Queen Bed:

if you want a minimal, upholstered bed frame, this fits the bill. clean lines, good fabric choices, and legs look good in either metal finish.

the metal slats seem more durable than some other platforms beds'wooden slat systems.

and yes, the king is a little bit wide for a standard/non-room and board king mattress, but that makes it a little easier to make the bed. we just shoved the mattress closer to the edge that people see when walking in the bedroom, and it doesn't bother us too much otherwise.

          Service and delivery comments:

the store was able to schedules delivery of our in-stock item only a few days after we purchased the bed, they gave us a call with a window the day before as promised, and the delivery people were prompt on the day of the delivery. they were courteous, careful, and very quick.

                Q:

I have a box spring for my king bed. Can it still be used with the ella bed?
Asked on 6/6/2013 by Lauren from United States

                1 answer

                • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

                  A:

The Ella bed is designed for the height of a mattress only. The slats are set just inside the upholstered frame, so most of your box spring would be visible. With the addition of your mattress the overall height would likely be too tall. Most standard mattresses can be placed directly on the slats. If you have an all foam mattress that requires a solid foundation, consider using a Platform Board in place of your box spring: http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/product/detail.do?productGroup=5061&catalog=room&category=rm_bedrooms&subcategory=mattress

                Q:

We've had an Ella bed for about one month, using the same mattress we had on our old (but very comfortable) bed. I am finding the Ella bed/slats quite a bit firmer than the old bed. Do you have any suggestions for how to make it softer? We'd like to avoid buying a new mattress.

                  A:

The support system with slats can give an overall firmer feel. A nice way to add a bit of comfort is to add a topper to your mattress. We offer the feather beds in our bedding department.

                Q:

Several comments on the Ella bed suggest that the bed is too long for the mattress (and by looking at the dimensions of the Cal King bed- 93" long for an 84" long mattress, it seems they are correct). Is this a style decision? Why is the bed frame so much longer than the mattress that "fits" it? I love the look of the Ella bed but am hesitant to buy it based on those comments. Thanks.
Asked on 4/27/2013 by need a stylish Cal King bed

                • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

                  A:

Yes our California king mattress is 84" in length and the platform that supports the mattress is 84.75x72.5 so a pretty good fit. 93" length is the overall length of the Ella bed from the back of the headboard to the end of the footboard. Let us know if you have more questions.
