Bed frame came with metal slats, but I think this board is a must. It balances out the mattress for even sleeping throughout and gives a nice clean look under the open bed.

I ordered this product along with custom ordered upholstered king size Monica bed. I'm really not sure what exactly the purpose of this product does, but this was recommended by the sales consultant to protect my tempurpedic mattress that I already owned. I don't regret it buying because my bed is both beautiful & functional. My children loves the brand new bed & I can't get them to sleep in their own beds. Also, the delivery was great & excellent customer service. They assembled & set it up for me. They took away all the trash too. Thank you Room & Board for an excellent customer service. You guys are the best.

I purchased the bunky boards for my king size platform bed frame, which I bought at another store. The boards were 1 inch too wide. I think the boards are designed for R&B bed frame sizes only, which are wider than standard. I had to return boards. However, they are very well finished, and since they are a solid board, they provide more support than the frame type bunky boards or box spring.

We have the Ella bed from R&B and these are a must have if you have an R&B bed, but a third party mattress. Since the beds are a little wider than average, you can see the metal bed slats under the sides of the mattress if you don't have these. With them under our mattress, you can't see the slats, and it actually makes making the bed much easier.

Before I purchased our new bed from Room&Board, I read the online reviews. A few of them mentioned that the bed was hard to make. I asked the Design Associate in the store why that might be and she explained that the bed linens may show below the bottom of the bed and some people found it hard to tuck the sheets and blankets in. She suggested this product as something that would help and it does! It's absolutely perfect.

Provides the support a mattress needs if you don't want to use a box spring. The cover protects the matress from fraying unlike using plain plywood or particle board. The corners are rounded to minimize the protrusion of the boards beyond the corners of your mattress. A nice touch if you like to fold your blankets underneath the mattress.

I was worried after reading reviews that making the (calvin) bed would be a little difficult- pinching fingers. I bought this with the rest of my order and I don't have any problems making the bed. I can't say if I would have had any w/o but I didn't want to take any chances.
