I ordered two shelves for my home office. I ended up using one in my office and the other in my child's room for books. The shelves look great in both locations. My husband hung them and had no issues. The shelves also came with a built-in level on the back to help with hanging. The color and design were what I expected. The shelves are sturdy, but would not recommend loading them up with heavy books. They are great for smaller books, plants, and magazines.

This is a beautiful, well-designed piece. These shelves allow you to create a customized display/storage area in places where a floor-standing bookshelf is not an option. We use it in a tight corner in our 9 year-old daughter's bedroom that would otherwise be wasted space. The shelf has a small lip that is not mentioned in the description, but which is a nice feature to prevent objects from sliding off the edge. Compared to the Float Shelf from R&B, the Wall Shelf to my mind is a more solid and higher quality product.

The comment by M from Boston about the plywood construction is well-taken. Veneer on plywood is far more desirable than a one-piece wood board.

I finally decided to utilize my wall space, and this shelf is just what I was looking for. I use it as an alternative to an end table because I'm a bit limited regarding space. It's clean and simple, but I was kind of surprised that it was composed of composite material. I was expecting it to be made of solid walnut, as is the rest of my furniture. That's not a fault, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

Service and delivery comments:

The delivery team was very cordial and professional. They were careful and beyond helpful with my delivery, which was about one week early to my pleasant surprise. I didn't need to call customer service regarding set-up of anything that purchased. From what I've experienced with R&B so far, I'm sure customer service wouldn't disappoint if/when I have to call. This shelf holds books, pictures and keepsakes in one of our kids' rooms. I judge floating shelves and ledges by how well they hang once installed. I always check for wobbles or any "give." This shelf is very solid and was quite easy to install and hang. From an aesthetic standpoint, the finish and color look great too. We are very happy with this shelf.

These are really good looking shelves. The only problem is we tried to line up two in a row to make one long shelf (as pictured throughout the catalog) and they don't line up. One shelf looks to have been built incorrectly so even though we've hung bother perfectly level...they don't line up to create a flat surface. You can imagine our frustration when we discovered this after taking nearly 2 hours to ensure all our mounting hardware was installed perfectly.

These shelves add functionality to a small work space, sitting on the wall next to a small secondary desk in the master bedroom, they provide extra work space on a wall that would otherwise go unused. I'm getting more use out of these than anticipated. Love the product!

I don't (yet) have this shelf, but THANK GOD it's made from plywood with veneer, instead of solid wood. It is FAR less likely to warp/sag when made this way. To the unhappy customer who wrote the earlier review, I am sorry you had a bad experience, but especially with a shelf of these dimensions, you would ultimately have been far more disappointed if it had been made of solid wood.

When I called to return the shelf, the sales associate insisted that the shelves were made from walnut and that I must be mistaken. I offered to send pictures of the back of the shelf, clearly showing that the shelf is made of plywood, but she laughed and said that was not necessary. This just made what was already a bad customer experience that much worse.
