Didn't Work for Me

By suzemcb

Pros

  • Good sound quality
  • Unique

Cons

  • Clock display too small
  • Expensive

Best Uses

  • Decoration
  • To tell time and wake-up

Customer comments about Tivoli Audio Model 10:

This is a very cool looking clock radio and the sound was pretty good too. However, the display was too small for me to see well at night. And, I think the long antenna is kind of ugly and cumbersome.

Good sound; terrible alarm clock radio

By Richard

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Appearance
  • Finish
  • Sound

Cons

  • Awkward
  • Difficult
  • Inconvenient
  • Tiresome controls

Best Uses

  • Radio

Customer comments about Tivoli Audio Model 10:

The Tivoli 10 is controlled almost exclusively by a remote. It is time-consuming and awkward to set the time, Once set, you can only confirm that the alarm is scheduled to go on but can't confirm the time without going through the entire tiresome clock/alarm setting program. The blue light on the clock makes it difficult to tell the time. We returned our 2 units and bought better and less expensive replacements. If all you want is to listen to the radio, buy it; but if you want it as an alarm clock/radio, don't spend the money and expose yourself to the frustration and inconvenience of the Tivoli 10.

Great clock radio, but not for everyone

Customer comments about Tivoli Audio Model 10:

This clock radio is exactly what it promises to be - great sound, looks awesome, well constructed. With most of the bedside clock radios these days being made out of black plastic, this is a really wonderful departure. I am satisfied with the purchase, and would recommend it highly.

However, there are a couple of things people need to be aware of. The display is *bright*. Even though the brightness is customizable, it's really almost too bright for a bedroom at the dimmest setting. I've chosen to turn off the display entirely (also an option), and it only pops on when the alarm goes on, or I nudge the wheel on the top of the radio. That's fine for me, but maybe not for everyone.

Also, it's really complicated. There are options for every setting and function, and it's a little much. In addition, you need to turn on the radio to set the alarm, and use a few other functions. It's just weird and not as straightforward as it could be.

However, with all that said, I really do like it and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
