I use it for file storage. The lateral drawers are space-saving and have a large capacity. The Finish is lovely. It blends with other woods I have in the room. I like the shelves for a little display area as well.

It seves my purpose perfectly. It is just the right size for the space, has shelves for cookbooks, etc.
Has opening for my kitchen TV wires and holds it as well. My place mats fit in one drawer and small appliances in the other. Very happy with it.

Have the file cabinet in my office and a full shelf and shelf w/ drawers in my living room. The walnut finish is beautiful. I paired the walnut finish w/ the black metal pulls. Wish the pulls had a bit of a lip to aid in opening. Had an issue w/ two shelves that had large scratches (>6"). Called that day and customer service shipped two replacements w/o hesitation. Appreciate that level of service comes w/ the price. Been shopping for bookcases forever but never wanted to pull the plug. Kept teetering between price vs. quality. You do get what you pay for. These are quality pieces, not junk. Would be perfect if they were available in wider options.

Love it except there was no hole in the veneer for the electrical cable -- had to drill my own. Odd, since there was a hole in the picture.

As a dedicated Room & Board customer, it kills me to write this review. This is a beautiful bookcase/file cabinet. I ordered with the extra large black pulls and I highly recommend them. However, the shelf on top isn't as functional as I would like. Admittedly, this is a mistake on my part, I should have measured, but I assumed the bookshelf could handle 2 shelves to hold binders vertically. So, right now I have the bottom shelf with 8.5 x 11" binders but the top shelf is very short - maybe 4". Also, the delivered piece does not have a hole for electric cords as shown in the online picture - this changed my utilization as I was hoping to put a printer on the bottom shelf. So, overall, the piece is beautiful with good quality but not very functional for a home office for my purposes
