We have this bookcase next to our couch. It holds many books and displays glassware. When we walk right next to it, it can wobbly, making some of hte glassware make noise, but that is the only complaint. It has more shelf space than most other bookcases we looked at, but at the same time is very sleek and minimal. In short, it is a great piece of furniture, and I already want another one.

We have 6 of these units: 3 in my office and 3 in the living room. I love the look: minimalist, clean, and I love how solid and sturdy they are. One slight suggestion to improve the product (but this probably applies to very few people), the bottom shelf, while taller than the others, isn't tall enough to contain my piano music. If it were just a little bit taller...

The delivery team took care of everything, cleaned up all of the protective material that insured no damage to the glass shelves, and provided care advice: what will scratch the glass, what to use if the metal gets nicked or scratched. They were even very knowledgable about other Room and Board products we were considering buying (purchased now!) and provided excellent information about the fabrics and how they wear. We had 8 large and heavy pieces delivered and assembled all for a VERY low price. I was so pleasantly surprised! Room and Board, you are h.i.g.h.l.y recommended by this customer! Value, service, quality merchandise, and customer focus. It just doesn't get any better than this!

We use two of these bookshelves on either side of the matching console as a media center and use them for both books and art objects. We're very happy with them and friends have complimented us on the new look of our living room. One small drawback with tbis setup is that the console and bookshelves are different depths, so if you put them right up against each other, they aren't flush front and back. We solved this by moving the bookshelves about 6 inches to either side of the console. This makes the depth difference less noticeable while still presenting a cohesive whole.

The open frame design and glass shelves mean that although these shelves are large and made of black metal, they don't dominate a room or wall and actually have a very light appearance. The matte finish is attractive and looks like it will be durable and the glass shelves feel sturdy. The shelf height fits books nicely, but since the ends of the shelves are open, bookends or horizontal stacking are necessary.

Overall, this is a sleek, modern, handsomely designed piece of furniture at a great price.

It's a perfect piece for our multi-purpose living space. The glass is very heavy/sturdy. I have no worries putting plenty of weight on the shelves. I was only disappointed when the tight space I was fitting the frame into scratched the outside of the frame so easily. Still, it was my fault. So I would only say be careful!

This is some seriously sturdy construction. Another reviewer had stated that their unit wobbled...mine has not at all. In fact, this is probably the best set of shelves I've ever owned. I have absolutely no complaints. I liked the fixed shelf spacing, its a good height and versatile. The finish works in a variety of differently styled rooms.

although this piece is made of quality materials, i found it to be shoddy in workmanship. the shelf brackets are not exactley lined up so the shelves wobble (as does the whole book case) and required me to use felt tabs to firm the shelves so they lay flat and do not make noise when you walk by all in all it looks nice, and has some weight to it, but for the price i expected it to be a bit more refined.
