        Q:

What is the difference between this table and the Parsons leg table which is also 36r and less expensive?

        • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

          A:

The Parsons base is a free standing, hand-welded base with horizontal supports at the top. Because of its design, it may be used with glass and stone tops. The legs are simply steel legs that can be used with a table top, such as wood, that can be attached with screws.

      • Parsons 36r Dining Table

        Q:

I am looking for a small, round table. When your dimensions say "36 round" does that mean circumference or diameter, or other?
Asked on 9/8/2013 by Penny from Atlanta GA

        1 answer

        • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

          A:

The 36r refers to the diameter of the table.

      • Q:

What is MDF? Is it a more durable product?
Asked on 8/19/2013 by Lizz from Nashville TN

        1 answer

        • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

          A:

MDF stands for medium density fiberboard. The surface is a powder-coated finish and quite durable. With the proper care, the finish is resistant to scratches and staining.

What chairs would you pair with the Parsons 42" gray glass dining table?

        • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

          A:

Each of our chair designs was chosen to match beautifully with most of our tables whether you prefer wood, upholstery, or a Midcentury design such as the Eames Molded Plastic Side Chair. You may contact a Design Associate at 800.486.6554 for design help or, perhaps, consider the Afton chair with Charcoal stain.

      • Parsons 36r Dining Table

        Q:

I'm wondering about the durability/finish/seal on the cherry butcher block table surface. We are planning to use this table as our family's primary dining table and have two little kids, which equals LOTS of spills and messes. Is the surface sealed nicely where it won't be immediately stained by a food or drink spill or is it quite porous and open to stains? We love the style of the Parsons table and like the look of the butcher block, but would choose a different tabletop if it would be easier to keep clean.
Asked on 5/8/2013 by Kim from Minneapolis

        1 answer

        • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

          A:

The Butcherblock tops are sealed with a lacquer finish. While the lacquer finish is there to protect the wood surface, lacquer is not impervious to scratching or dents. Most durable top surface would be granite. For further details on woods and care see; http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/ideas_advice/materials_care/wood_wood_veneers.ftl
