SAYL

Summary

Description

Designed by Yves Behar, the SAYL® work chair was inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge. The concept of a suspension bridge tower was used to support the frameless back while molding support directly into the material. This chair delivers the most comfort with the least materials—all with an extremely small environmental impact.

Customer comments about SAYL® Chair in Slate Grey with Crossing Graphite by Herman Miller®:

The chair itself is really comfortable and I'm glad we went for the charcoal instead of all black, gives a little extra style to an already stylish chair. We stuck with the stock casters, which roll easily across the hardwood without damaging the floor, though in certain areas where the floor is uneven, they roll a little TOO easily. Overall super happy with these chairs and get lots of compliments.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery with Room & Board is always pretty painless, they show up in the window and are very professional. My only issue with these chairs was the original delivery had some issues with the assembly on 2 of the chairs, which appeared to have been assembled without removing the plastic, so they wouldn't adjust up & down. R&B was responsive in both sending a repair technician (who couldn't fix them) and then replacing them promply. But, still minus 1 star for having 2/6 chairs DOA due to poor assembly (and apparently 0 QA post assembly).

Customer comments about SAYL® Basic Chair in Studio White with Crossing Shale by Herman Miller®:

I originally purchased this chair in black for work because my boss wasn't willing to pay for an Aeron chair. To my surprise, I ended up liking it better because it's less bulky. I ultimately bought two Sayls in white for our home office, and they are fantastic. Best chair around, in my opinion.

I wanted a comfortable chair for my home office. This is a well made chair that was quite a bit less expensive than the alternatives out there.

Bought our first Sayl as office chair, bought the next two for the kids desks in their rooms. By far, the most comfortable, supportive, well-designed work chair we've ever purchased.. and that includes the Aeron chair!

Customer comments about SAYL® Chair in Slate Grey with Crossing Graphite by Herman Miller®:

I loved the SAYL chair as soon as I saw it, and it was comfortable to sit in - in the store. After a week or so, I realized I wasn't quite so comfortable. The problem is... ME. I'm a bigger guy, and the depth of the seat on the SAYL chair is as stocked is just not quite deep enough for me. Despite what the attached booklet from Herman Miller says, the depth is NOT adjustable on this version.

I stopped back at the Skokie, IL store and worked with a designer to special order a SAYL chair from Herman Miller that includes depth adjustment on the seat. Yeah, it cost more money than the original, but it works PERFECTLY. I couldn't be happier, and I kept the original until my special order arrived.

This is BAR NONE the best office chair I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It looks STUNNING, is compact and does not look office chair fugly, the sail like back dissapears into the background so that your space does not get bogged down by a slabby back, while providing SUPERIOR support for my back.
It is firm, controls are accurate, height adjustments, tilt, all good. Love the adjustable arm-rest height.

I simply cannot cannot recommend this enough. I got the chair version in gray on black. Perfect! And very fast shipping, well packaged too.

I have read the reviews and one customer commented that the white chair did not stay white for long. How do you clean these chairs. Under "care and fit" there is only a video about measuring for delivery, no care instructions. As this will be my primary work chair, I am looking for something I easily clean and keep looking great.
