I knew what I wanted, so the actual Eames piece was no surprise. What was a surprise was the experience of buying it from R&B. In researching the piece online, R&B was the most competitively priced with regard to shipping and delivery (the piece's purchase price was consistent among suppliers). But, R&B then extended the annual Herman Miller discount on top of it and, when all was said and done, the piece cost me just under the original sticker price - essentially with free shipping and exceptional delivery service. From placing the oder, to being notified when I was told I would be, to an accurate in-apartment delivery and set-up time (usually a rarity in New York city), the whole experience was stellar.
