Oh how I wish I had never purchased this lamp. After I put it together, the shade didn't sit correctly -- I could not get it to sit level. Also, the base of the lamp sits close to vertical in the product image, and instead my lamp is canted at about a 75 degree angle. Anyway, after fiddling with it for a week, I spoke to customer service about the cattywonked shade. The customer service person suggested I gently try to bend it into shape. Well, without much pressure at all, I managed to break it. So profoundly disappointed with this.

We have it in a corner of our living room and it gives a great glow for when we are watching TV or hanging out. We hardly have to use our recessed lights. We love that there is a built in dimmer for the single bulb.
My only concern is that I've had cheaper lamps with this type of "pole screw-on to base" construction and usually the threads wear out and the lamp is then "loose." I hope this one will not have that issue.

A quality piece with a lovely shape. Used next to our sofa. The only con is that the cord could be better hidden under the lamp base. Other than that, it is perfect. We added a energy efficient bulb (150W equivalent). Fantastic service and delivery, as always at room and board.

I really like this lamp a lot. It was easy to assemble and looks great. It seems well made and it provides good light and great style.
It does not work well with CFL bulbs (unless my bulb was defective it seemed to flicker a bit), and it is on a dimmer (which I did not realize in the store but OK). Overall I am really enjoying it. It is better on an even surfase.
