Customer comments about Mackintosh Queen Low Footboard Bed:
This bed is a bit difficult to tuck covers on bottom. I may purchase a board for that purpose. We have the pre-curser to this bed in our bedroom. Due to my husband's new job I needed to move to a different room to sleep. Every night I truly love to crawl into this bed.

Customer comments about Mackintosh Queen Low Footboard Bed:
Solid construction, durable finish. We ended up moving soon after we purchased this bed, and even after a move, the bed is still as solid as when it was first unpacked. The original delivery was easy, with competent assemblers.
We ended up putting a Slim console table at the end of the bed; they pair well.

Customer comments about Mackintosh Queen Low Footboard Bed:
I have read some of the comments about the bed being hard to make. I have a 2 inch bunky board under my mattress and it raises the mattress just enough so that I'm not having to contend with the steel frame while making the bed.
I love the height of the bed. It is built very solid and worth every penny. This bed is an heirloom that will be in my family for generations.
Now I need new nightstands, my current bedside tables were for a much lower bed. I think that a set of 28 inch nightstands will work perfectly.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery to the northern part of the delivery area (for the Seattle location) was exact to the minute. The crew worked expeditiously and diligently. I did not use customer service for anything.

Customer comments about Mackintosh California King Low Footboard Standard Bed:
I've been looking at bedroom furniture for a long time. Found the McIntosh headboard online, and drove to Orange County to see it. It took a while to arrive, due to the low footboard, but it was worth it. Solid construction, quiet, clean looking welds (nothing to snag, etc). I love that it is made in the US too!

Customer comments about Mackintosh Queen Low Footboard Bed:
This is the second of these beds I now own. They are simple in design, very classic. Fits in my Montana home perfectly. The dark finish is durable and I just have to vacuum or dust the horizontal pieces occassionally. Very sturdy, no squeaking. Easy to assemble and move if needed. I moved the first one I bought into the guest room by myself and put it back together by meself. Easy.
Looks great with traditional or modern linens. Love the room underneath for storage. All around terrific piece of furniture!

Customer comments about Mackintosh Queen Low Footboard Bed:
Bed looks nice with no bed skirt, it blends with the wood furniture, and the cats can't hide out of sight under it! I look forward to handing it down to my children, and I am sure one of them will treasure it.

Customer comments about Mackintosh Queen Low Footboard Bed:
I have family members who have R&B beds so I knew the quality would be fantastic. I must say that I have not been disappointed. I love the design and the quality. As I have small bedroom, having a bed that does not have a box spring has really made the room feel bigger. I could not be happier.

Customer comments about Mackintosh Queen Low Footboard Bed:
I found this bed just as I was getting desperate for a sensible solution to create extra storage in my studio apartment without building an unsightly loftbed. The 15 inches of clearance underneath is a miracle -- I call it my "attic." I have even found a 14"-15" non-ruffly bed skirt to conceal it. I ordered the bed sight unseen and couldn't be happier with it. It is rock solid, does not budge or squeak, and will last forever. A detail you can't discern from the photos is that the vertical bars inside the frame of the headboard are narrow cylindrical rods, which I think tempers an otherwise geometric look, creating a certain airiness that blends in nicely with my eclectic/boho home style. To ease making the bed, I got one of those boards that R&B sells to put underneath the mattress.
Service and delivery comments:
The delivery guys were super polite and considerate. I really appreciated that they removed their shoes when entering. Customer service by phone was refreshingly pleasant. I had a very mixed in-store experience which ultimately led me to purchase my mattress for this bed elsewhere.

Q:
Is this a sleigh bed or does it fit straight against the wall? I wish there were a picture of the bed from the side or at an angle, without bedding.Asked on 5/23/2013 by sb from sacramento1 answer

A:
The Mackintosh has a straight headboard with no curve. To get a good idea of the look of the bed, check out the additional photos of our Parsons bed, which has a similar design. http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/product/detail.do?productGroup=19564Answered on 5/23/2013 by Design Associate from Room & Board
