Winter in Minnesota can be tough. The frigid temperatures and record-breaking snowfall leave many of us searching for flights to some faraway tropical destination. Winter in Palm Springs, however, paints a much better picture. Warm weather, salt water pools, mountain views and an 11-day celebration of mid-century architecture, design and culture during Modernism Week<\/a> makes Palm Springs the perfect place for an escape.<\/p>\n

And that’s exactly what we did! This year, Room & Board participated in Modernism Week as a Platinum Sponsor and teamed up with Brad and Heather Fox, the husband and wife duo behind Fox Homes<\/a> and hosts of HGTV’s new show, “Stay or Sell.” We loved working with them to furnish the Modernism Week Featured Home: Desert Eichler. The gorgeous home is a modernized version of a design by the famous mid-century California builder Joseph Eichler, designed by Anshen + Allen and developed by KUD Properties<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The best part? A few of us were lucky enough to escape the cold at our Central Office in Minneapolis to celebrate the Fox’s new home at the Eichler Palms Social Party and give public tours of the space to hundreds of Modernism Week attendees. It was so much fun to see people’s reactions to the home and watch as they admired our furniture and colorful decor from fellow Minnesota-based brands and makers.<\/a><\/p>\n
