We partnered with food and lifestyle blogger Rachel Mansfield of @rachlmansfield<\/a> to help furnish her family\u2019s apartment. When starting each room, Rachel did a bit of research on our website to get an idea of the pieces that were available. Then she headed to our Chelsea store where our Design Associates<\/a> helped plan the space and bring Rachel’s vision to life. “This service is something that Room & Board offers complimentary and I cannot recommend it enough no matter what the size of the project is!” wrote Rachel on her blog.<\/p>\n

Dining + Living Room<\/h2>\n

This open concept space shares entertaining and relaxation duties. We provided Rachel with a few pieces to create two zones while ensuring the room flows nicely thanks to a cohesive color palette.<\/p>\n

Cade three-piece sectional<\/a>, Aria dining table<\/a>, custom Cora dining chairs<\/a>, Luster pendants (discontinued, see similar)<\/em><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Rachel chose the marbled white quartz composite top for her Aria dining table<\/a> because it has the look of marble but is easier to care for. She uses the table throughout the day as she’s baking and getting work done. Rachel also picked out custom Cora dining chairs<\/a> and reports that “everyone compliments how comfortable they are!”<\/p>\n

Maximizing seating is essential in a small living room. The Cade sofa with chaise<\/a> provides enough room to seat guests comfortably. “Plus it is amazing to lay down on and relax,” wrote Rachel. Her favorite part of the room? The cowhide rug<\/a>! She loves the natural look and dash of pattern it adds to the space.<\/p>\n

Bedroom<\/h2>\n

Rachel wanted to create a calm, airy bedroom to help her relax at night. In the planning stages, Rachel created a wish list at Room & Board<\/a> using both the website and customer photos for inspiration.<\/p>\n

One thing Rachel insisted on: a king-size bed. With a baby in the mix, the extra space is nice to have for snuggling on relaxed mornings. This Avery storage bed<\/a> also has a large drawer underneath to keep extra linens hidden away. More storage is found in the Hudson dressers<\/a> flanking the bed. Above the bed, Rachel used Profile frames<\/a> to showcase special photos.<\/p>\n

This large Hudson dresser<\/a> provides even more storage without overwhelming the room. “The ten-drawer one is\u00a0huge,” <\/em>Rachel wrote. “<\/em>In fact, I am pretty sure 6 out of the 10 drawers are still empty!”<\/p>\n

As an added bonus, Rachel was able to carve out a small office nook in the corner of the bedroom. It gives her a quiet place to post recipes and do other work outside the main living areas.<\/p>\n

Nursery<\/h2>\n

Rachel is known for her commitment to healthy living, and she was thrilled to learn that Room & Board nursery furniture is built in the U.S. using only non-toxic finishes.<\/p>\n

Rachel chose the Wren swivel glider<\/a> for its comfort, selecting grey upholstery to bring in the grey tones from other parts of the house. The chair gets a lot of use for late-night feedings and daily cuddling with their baby.<\/p>\n

The Flynn dresser<\/a> features a white cabinet on a walnut base, which Rachel liked because it complements her darker floors. The mirror, which reflects natural light and makes the room look bigger, might be more for her than the baby at this stage. “The mirror you see me posting selfies from in his room (no shame) is the\u00a0Hudson floor mirror<\/a>,”\u00a0wrote Rachel. “It is very accurate as well (you know that is important when mirror shopping!).”<\/p>\n

Trace picture ledges<\/a>, Flynn six-drawer dresser<\/a>, Simone lamp<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A larger Flynn dresser<\/a> anchors a wall filled with personality. Rachel had a sweet idea for decorating the nursery by displaying inspirational cards and thoughtful notes from friends on the Trace picture ledges<\/a>. The Simone lamp<\/a> provides gentle lighting for nighttime diaper changes.<\/p>\n
