Minnesota Opera's office received a modern makeover to align with their refreshed branding and reputation for artistic innovation. Room & Board was on the scene to design, plan and implement the changes.
Since merging three Minneapolis warehouse buildings into one 50,000-square-foot office in the 90s, the opera's space had gone unchanged. When President and General Director Ryan Taylor joined the organization, he spurred the effort to modernize the space. Specifically, the team needed furniture for individual offices, meeting rooms and casual collaboration areas.
“It has helped us to rebrand and reinforce the talent level that is present here on staff. People are excited to visit the space and do amazing work with us.”
— Ryan Taylor, President and General Director
The Business Interiors team created detailed floor plans and selected furniture to highlight the architecture of the space, coordinate with the organization's branding and stay within budget. Staff members selected furniture from a curated menu of options for their individual offices, giving everyone a personalized feel within a consistent look. Our team also advised the opera on decorative displays of posters and costumes to emphasize their mission and history.
Minnesota Opera's updated office design has renewed their sense of pride in their historic Minneapolis building and reinvigorated their team, artists and supporters. Ryan shares, "It has helped us to rebrand and reinforce the talent level that is present here on staff. People are excited to visit the space and do amazing work with us."
