Our Hiring Process

We designed our online application to be fast and easy for you. Once you apply, we know you'll be eager to hear from us. We'll be in touch within 15 days.

Step 1

After you apply online, we may call to introduce ourselves. If we think you're a good fit, we'll invite you to interview by phone.

Step 2

If you continue through the process, we'll invite you onsite to interview with a hiring team.

Step 3

If you receive and accept an offer, we'll start the pre-employment and onboarding process.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time should I allow to fill out the application?

Allow about 15 minutes to fill out our online application. You'll likely spend the most time on a few open-ended questions. You don't need to complete the application in one session. Our system allows you to save your work and come back to complete the process.

How will I know if my application has been received?

Within 24 hours of submitting your online application, you'll receive an automated confirmation email. If you don't see it, please check your junk mail and approve us as a sender so you'll receive future emails. If you don't receive a confirmation email, your application may be incomplete. Log back in to your profile and select Continue application within your Dashboard.

Can I mail my resume or drop it off in person?

We require you to complete the online application process to make sure we have all of the information we need to consider you for a position. Mailing or dropping off your resume doesn't increase your chances of getting hired, but a thoughtful online application does.

I'm having technical problems. What should I do?

Please accept our apologies if you're having any technical difficulty using our site. This technical support page provides assistance for common issues. If you don't find a solution there, please email We'll respond within two business days to help.

Should I include references or a cover letter with my application?

A cover letter, references or portfolio are not typically required, but you're welcome to include them to help us get to know you. If you're including any of these items, please submit them as one document.

Do I need to re-apply as new opportunities are posted?

Yes, please re-apply as new positions are posted, even if you've applied for the same or similar job in the past. When you log into your account, your most recent application will be saved for you to update and re-submit. We only keep one version of your resume on file, so it's important to upload a current version with each application.

I saw a job listed on a job board (Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, etc.), but it isn't on your site. Is it still available?

If a position is no longer on our careers site, it has been filled. Unfortunately, job boards don't always allow us to immediately remove an opening, so in some instances you may come across positions that are no longer available.

I've forgotten my password. How do I reset it?

Go to Job Openings, then click to Log back in to your account. On the Login page, click the Forgot your password? link and enter your email to reset your password.

How will I know if I'm still being considered for a position?

You will hear from us within 15 days whether you're being considered for a position or not. If we don't think your background and experiences are a good fit, you'll receive an email letting you know. If you are being considered for a position, we'll reach out to start the interview process. If it's been more than 15 days since you applied, please email us at

How do I update my profile information or resume?

You can update your profile and resume by going to Job Openings and selecting Log back in. Select Dashboard to update your profile, manage your e-mail subscriptions and view job status.

Can I be notified when a job becomes available?

Yes. Sign up for job notifications and we'll notify you when we have job opportunities that align with your interests and also share relevant company news and events.

I received an email with a job offer, but I haven't connected with Room & Board. Is this legitimate?

Room & Board will never extend an offer of employment or request for personal information without receiving an online application and conducting one or more in-person or video interviews.

If you received communication referencing a job offer with Room & Board and you have not submitted an online application and been interviewed by a Room & Board staff member, please assume the offer is not legitimate.
