Mattresses from Room & Board
If you’re spending your recommended eight hours a night getting some shut-eye, then you’re spending a significant amount of your life in bed. But no matter how much sleep you get a night, it should be the most restorative you can manage, which is why Room & Board carefully plans the design and construction of our mattresses down to the very last coil, cover and stitch.
We partner with a Minnesota maker to create exclusive, private-label, low-profile mattresses that perfectly fit our platform beds. Together, we have engineered mattresses that don’t need a box spring or foundation, which creates a modern style profile that also saves space and money for your bedroom.
Our experts use a combination of technology and handwork to craft Room & Board mattresses. Large sewing machines quilt the covers, while cutting, assembling and edge finishing is done by hand and inspected each step of the way. After a final quality check, mattresses are wrapped, sealed and sent up the road to our stores.
Four types—Innerspring, Encased Coil, Serene® Foam, and Natural Latex Foam—and 11 comfort options, ranging from ultra soft to extra firm, align the spine and cradle you comfortably. And Room & Board really believes in a total test drive—sleep on it for up to 120 days, and if you don’t love it return or exchange it for free.
Room & Board is dedicated to using the safest materials available in our mattresses, which we source within the U.S. whenever possible. We've eliminated flame-retardant chemicals in Room & Board mattresses by using a nontoxic fire-retardant fiber. Made from wood pulp, this natural material is inherently resistant to flame and complies with state and national fire-safety laws. Our organic latex foam is made without any synthetics, and all other foams are certified by CertiPUR-US® to be low-VOC and free of flame-retardant chemicals, lead, mercury, formaldehyde, and ozone-depleting CFCs—all covered by an organic cotton mattress cover. Consider this a safer, truly good night’s rest.
