Kazimir Malevich

Russian painter Kazimir Malevich was a pioneer of geometric abstract art and the originator of the avant-garde Suprematist movement that focused on basic forms such as squares, lines and circles. This 1992 limited edition lithograph was created by Mourlot Studios in Paris, which worked directly with artists such as Matisse and Picasso.

  • Technique: lithography: limestone or aluminum plates are used as a palate for the oil-based chemicals and water that together etch designs into the plate, which is then rolled with ink to transfer the image

  • Care: wipe with damp cloth, dry immediately; clean insert with plexiglass cleaner sprayed onto cloth
