Mattress Quality, Safety & FAQs

We design our private-label mattresses just like we design the rest of our products: with a focus on quality, materials you can trust and solutions you need.

What’s inside?

We use only the best materials in each of our mattresses - no toxic chemicals, no mystery fillers. Plus, our manufacturer-direct relationship means you receive these exceptional materials at a great value.

Organic cotton covers

Certified organic and all natural, our mattress covers are made from cotton that is grown without chemical applications.

Used on all mattresses

Non-toxic natural fire-retardant fiber

A by-product of wood pulp production, our non-toxic natural fire-retardant fiber resists flames without the use of chemicals and complies with California and national fire safety codes TB 603 and CSPC 16 CFR 1632 and 1633.

Used on all mattresses

CertiPUR-US® Foam

We use the safest foams available in the market. CertiPUR-US® certified low-VOC foams are made without mercury, lead or heavy metals, PBDEs, TDCPP or TECP (“Tris”) flame retardants and contain no chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).

New Zealand Joma™ Wool

Naturally anti-microbial and anti-allergenic, Joma™ wool resists compression over time and helps regulate your body temperature.

Used in Encased Coil with Natural Latex Foam and Natural Latex Foam mattresseses

Organic latex foam

Our 100% pure, organic latex foam is made from natural rubber tree sap using the Dunlop process, which is free of synthetic fillers. Latex is naturally anti-microbial and does not create or harbor dust.

Used in Encased Coil with Natural Latex Foam and Natural Latex Foam mattresses

Steel springs and coils

Our innerspring and encased coil units are made in the U.S. from recycled tempered high-tensile strength steel. Generous coil counts in each mattress provide better body conformity and maximum support.

Comfort & Feel

A mattress that offers medium comfort—not too firm, not too soft—is a great choice for partners with different comfort preferences. These mattress options also minimize partner sleep disturbance.

Design & Construction

It depends on the type of bed frame you plan to use. If you plan to use our mattresses on a Room & Board bed or any platform bed, you do not need a box spring. However, our mattresses can also be used with traditional box springs and metal bed frames, which are both available by special order.

Ask a Design Associate for details.

Even though our beds and mattresses do not require the support of our platform boards, they can serve two helpful purposes. Covering our bed support slats with platform boards provides a finished look and makes it easier to tuck sheets and bedding. You may also want to consider using platform boards with our beds if you own a specialty mattress that requires solid-surface support to meet warranty requirements.

Shop platform boards

We recommend a mattress height of 13 inches or shorter to create the ideal bed proportions. All of our mattresses meet this height recommendation for a modern, low-profile look.

Shop beds

Our Innerspring mattresses weigh the least, which makes changing bedding and rotating the mattress easier.

Our Encased Coil, Natural Latex and Serene® Foam mattresses are flexible enough to be bent or compressed to fit through tight spaces. Our Innerspring mattresses are the least flexible because of a steel wire around the perimeter. However, all king size Innerspring mattresses have hinges in the perimeter wire so they can fold in half to fit through doorways.

The best thing you can do to get the most from your mattress is rotate it head to foot every few months to even out wear.

Health & Safety

No. We use non-toxic fibers that are naturally fire resistant to comply with fire safety codes.

Our pure, organic latex is all natural and does not create or harbor dust, which makes it an ideal solution if you have allergies or chemical sensitivities.
