School may be different for students this year due to COVID-19. But the need for school supplies remains.

To make a difference for students in the Twin Cities, the Room & Board Central Office in Golden Valley, Minn. held their annual school supply drive for Minnesota Community Partner, CommonBond Communities.

Staff members donated a variety of school supplies at the Central Office. From folders and notebooks to markers and crayons, staff members pitched in to help students.

Room & Board staff masked up and loaded up a vehicle to drop off the school supplies at two local CommonBond properties.

Staff members delivered more than $1,000 worth of supplies.

SAP Business Analyst Deanna Edeh has volunteered with the CommonBond committee for years. The drive is a fall tradition for her. She helps shop for items and distributes them to the buildings.

“It feels good to know you’re making an impact and helping local students start the school year with all the supplies they need to set them up for success,” says Deanna.

CommonBond shares their gratitude for the annual event, especially during a year when many students are learning remotely.

“All these supplies will be used and appreciated by our students, no matter how they’re doing their schooling this year,” says Kathy Vigil, Associate Director of Development at CommonBond Communities. “We’re grateful to Room & Board’s continued commitment to this effort, even during COVID-19.”
