We believe we’re part of something bigger. Room & Board supports local non-profit organizations in the communities where we live and work, and well as national organizations doing good across the country. We focus our resources on social and environmental causes that impact us all.

Sustainability
Respect for the environment is a guiding principle for us. Sustainability is a thread woven through everything we do, from how we make our furniture to how we operate our business.
We are a founding member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council whose mission is to help companies reduce their environmental footprints as they grow, and to help consumers find healthy furnishings.

Reclaimed logs are turned into furniture through our Urban Wood Project.
People First
We believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and have access to equal opportunities. Supporting equity and stable homes are how we live out this value.
Racial Equity
Room & Board values diversity, equity and inclusion in all areas of our business. We’re taking steps to include even more BIPOC individuals in our workforce, diversify our manufacturing partnerships and publicly support BIPOC equity and justice.
We support the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Our Washington, D.C., delivery center honored Juneteenth.
LGBTQIA+ Equity
Love is love. Room & Board provides equal company benefits to our staff members in domestic partnerships, publicly opposes measures that limit the rights of LGBTQIA+ people and supports nonprofits caring for the LGBTQIA+ community.
We are a PRIDE sponsor and public supporter.

Home and Family
Home matters. Everyone should have physical and emotional shelter. Room & Board supports organizations providing stable housing for low-income or homeless youth, families, seniors and individuals with mental illness.
We are a furniture donation partner for housing non-profits throughout the United States.

SOME provides a range of services, including affordable housing.
