On behalf of everyone at Room & Board, I hope you and your loved ones are well. We’ve all experienced a year unlike any other, both in our personal and professional lives.
From a business perspective, we have been amazed at the significant growth across the furniture industry. As people spend more time at home, they are eager to make their spaces more functional and inspirational. We are so grateful people are turning to us to help make their homes better during a difficult time.
We have always held ourselves to a very high standard when it comes to furniture availability. More than 90% of our furniture and home decor is made by U.S. manufacturers. Thanks to these close partnerships, we have historically been able to fulfill orders within a matter of days to a few weeks.
Our Commitment to You
Supply chains are strained across many industries due to COVID-19 and recent weather events in the South. Material availability, staffing shortages and unprecedented demand is impacting our ability to fulfill orders quickly. We work closely with our manufacturing partners to anticipate issues and communicate the most accurate lead time possible to customers. However, with the volatility of today’s climate, we have not been able to foresee delays as accurately as we once could.
In our 40 years of business, we have seen many challenges and have always navigated them by taking good care of our customers, staff members and manufacturing partners while creating timeless, quality furniture. We are investing in our capacity to serve you by bringing on new manufacturing partners, adding delivery staff members and increasing warehouse space. As a people-first company that values transparency, we want to share what today’s challenges mean for furniture availability in the coming months.
What You Can Expect
For those of you who are experiencing a delay on your order, we apologize for the wait and thank you for your patience. We will continue to share updates with you about any changes to your estimated delivery timing. As always, we will fulfill orders in the order they were placed, giving priority to the oldest orders. We greatly appreciate your continued support of us and our U.S. craftspeople.
For those of you who are planning for projects and considering a purchase, we encourage you to order early to allow for longer wait times than usual. Some items continue to be in stock and available for delivery, while many of our popular items are out of stock for an extended time. The dates shown on roomandboard.com are the best availability estimates for new orders.
From all of us at Room & Board, we appreciate your understanding and patience.
Sincerely,
Bruce Champeau, President and COO
Dear Bruce, My name is John Sabourin and the two bedrooms, office and dining room in my San Diego condo are furnished with Room and Board furniture. I purchased a file cabinet in 2022 and I inadvertently selected black handles. A few weeks ago I was at the R&B store in La Jolla, California to see if I could get the silver handles. I was also looking for a bench to compliment the end of the master bed. Bruce Jaynes provided me with assistance in selecting the size and color of the bench. I asked him if I could change the handles on the file cabinet I purchased last year. He found them in the inventory listing. To my pleasant surprise, the new handles arrived yesterday (February 8) at no charge. It is so refreshing to get this kind of wonderful service. Bruce was great to work with and I appreciate him going the extra mile.
John, thank you for sharing this with us and I’m so glad you had a good experience.
