Bruns
Born from our partnership with the USDA Forest Service and the city of Baltimore, our Bruns decorative ladder is a beautiful example of sustainability in action. We’ve reclaimed wood that would have otherwise been taken to a landfill to create truly unique pieces of sustainable furniture for your home. The pine for this ladder is salvaged from wall studs of row houses in Baltimore, with some of the wood panels dating back to the 1800s. Powder-coated steel rungs complement the beauty of the reclaimed wood and hold towels or throw blankets.

This is perfect in design and quality, hits that right note of modern but traditional. I was really looking for something antique because I didn't think I would find something new that would hit the right notes, and this came up in a search. I've been a big fan of R&B for years, having had multiple pieces, most of which have moved on to new homes because my new house is more traditional than modern (except mattresses, which are amazing). But this nailed it. Bravo design team.

I use this as a catchall for towels and clothes, to keep them off my bathroom floor. It's narrow enough to fit my space, but is still able to hold plenty of towels. It definitely has character, maybe too much for some, as the wood on the two sides of the ladder look very different in terms of color and knotting. I like that about it, but others may not. It was light weight enough to install on my own, but a bit tricky to get both legs to rest evenly on the floor. #sweepstakes

Well-crafted product! The metal bands are narrow, but not sharp; it works beautifully as a blanket ladder/display in the living room. The wood is sanded to a super smooth finish; the only (minor) quibble is the color is lighter than expected, per product photos, but the reused wood materials from Baltimore are a little slice of home while living on the West Coast.
