Essential Mattress

Firm comfort

You're not going to want to get out of bed.

#sweepstakes 155 Comfortable mattress. It is the perfect height on my Chapman bedframe.

I think I found my favorite mattress. It's comfortable and is the perfect height.

The designer KD in Seattle was instrumental in selecting the ideal mattress for my needs. It's the perfect mattress for my new Chapman bed frame.

I purchased this mattress (queen) two years ago. Initially, it was great. However, within the last year the comfort level has dropped significantly. When lying down you can feel the support structure and there is a definite dip in the middle of the mattress. Only one person sleeps on the bed. Within the last 6 months I've spoken to a sales person who reported my dissatisfaction, but no one from Room and Board has reached out. This was not a good buy and I'm looking to purchase a replacement.

I have issues with many mattresses but this one is perfect. It is firm and keeps my back supported. Very please and I think it's a good price. Grab this for a hybrid not too hard option.

Doesn't feel like a high quality mattress. Giving it a bit more time whether to return it within 90 days allowed.

#sweepstakes The mattress is really firm, as described. It does feel like it retains heat a bit more than my previous mattress.

I purchased this mattress from Room & Board in June 2021 and, unfortunately, I would not purchase it again. After five years, the mattress still looks nearly perfect, has been well cared for and regularly rotated, but it has lost a significant amount of support. Both my partner and I began waking up with considerable back pain. I didn't fully appreciate how much the mattress was contributing until I slept on a different mattress and woke up without the back pain I had been experiencing at home. I contacted Room & Board hoping they would stand behind the mattress, particularly given its reputation and the fact that it has been properly maintained on a Room & Board frame. I provided the requested photos and information about how we cared for it. Their conclusion was that compression is normal after five years and, because the visible impressions do not qualify as a manufacturing defect, they would not offer an exchange, replacement, or even a credit toward another mattress. I understand that mattresses don't last forever and that warranties have specific criteria. However, I expected considerably more than five years of adequate support from a mattress from this retailer. What is especially frustrating is that a mattress can look perfectly fine and still have lost enough internal support to make it uncomfortable to sleep on; something that isn't necessarily reflected by measuring the depth of a visible impression. For anyone considering this mattress, I would factor its potential longevity into the purchase decision. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend it, and we will be replacing ours with a different brand.
