Sybil

After 30 years with our blue leather couch, we were ready for an upgrade and chose the Sybil. We wanted something firmer and more upright, and this design delivered. It looks beautiful in the room and feels classic and elegant. We do have a black-haired dog, so we covered the seat as a precaution. Designers were awesome to work with too.

While admittedly, the blue pattern is a little more grey than expected, it is beautiful! We also love how the cushion actually has a bit of an older feel to match the style of the sofa. #sweepstakes

The sofa is very sleek but still comfy

We waited nearly 4 months for our Room & Board couch, and while the wait was long, the final look and color are exactly what we hoped for—modern, stylish, and a perfect fit for our space. Unfortunately, the quality fell short of expectations for a brand known for premium furniture. One of the legs arrived not fully screwed in, and there's visible damage on the leg where the fabric meets the base (see photo). It looks like it may have been chipped or scraped during assembly or shipping. We're happy with the overall appearance and comfort, but for the price and the long lead time, we expected better attention to detail and QC. A little disappointing on the finish. I know we have an option of exchanging it but we're tired of waiting. We already have to wait over a month for a dining table exchange due to similar QC issues. Would we buy from Room & Board again? Probably, but with tempered expectations around quality control.

After scouring local furniture stores and the plethora of outlets, I visited Room & Board showroom in Boston to check out the Sybil sofas. The customer service people answered every question I had, took plenty of time with me, did not pressure me in the least, and told me about their customer service, their virtual fitting (which I did to be sure I could get the sofas in through my antique front door). Between emails, assurances, extra swatches, instructions and best practices for spot cleaning, I knew that I wanted to buy from Room & Board. They arrived a month ago now and I am absolutely thrilled with my decision. With elegant lines, perfect dimensions, and fabric that is performance grade, comfortable and gorgeous, I couldn't be more pleased. I did my homework in sofa shopping. I am so pleased with my two Sybil 80" Bench Cushion Sofas (in Sumner Ivory), with the follow-ups from Room & Board. The whole process was such a pleasure, not to mention I had so little time to wait before they arrived.

I could not be happier with my Sybil Couch. It is stylish, quality and is exactly as it was in the showroom. The upholstery was well done and most importantly, comfortable. It took about 3 months from the time of order and it was well worth it. Compared to friends who ordered furniture at the same time who won't receive their furniture for 6 months, I feel very lucky. In the last 2 years I have purchased a dining room table and chairs, counter stools, the Sybil Couch and living room chairs. Everything has been of superior quality and I also like that they are a sustainable company and are very intentional when choosing artisans who make their furniture. Being sustainable is important to me so the fact that Room and Board makes this part of their business model is fantastic.
