Woodwind Open-Back

We special ordered to get our size and even though I knew what to expect from seeing in store I was surprised just how beautiful they turned out in person. Solid wood heavy will hold up for many years to come!

I ordered two of these bookcases to sit on either side of my couch. They come with attachments to the wall for safety. They are sturdy and beautifully made. Absolutely nothing but perfection!

Very beautiful...and heavy! Being able to customize the dimensions was key for me, and I love that the piece feels both substantial but also airy because of the open back. The shelves appear to be a form of manufactured wood with veneer, but still feel very high quality. Love buying products that are made of "real" materials and not made abroad. #sweepstakes

The bookcases were a perfect fit … exactly as ordered. The cherry wood is beautiful. Shelves are substantial and adjustable.

I have a very tall vaulted ceiling on a wall with a multi-light switch, return-air vent, and thermostat. I wanted to put our media center on that wall so I needed shelves that would be deep enough to fit a record player, LPs, and bookshelf speakers. Plus, we just did a whole-house remodel and so I wanted the shelving to complement all the new white oak floors and white walls. This shelf is perfect! The open back allowed me to accommodate the a/c vent and the thermostat, and the custom height allowed me to go high enough to take advantage of the high ceiling. The best part is that the shelves are adjustable and deep enough that I'm able to store our record collection and put our record player there next to it, but if one day we decide we don't want that anymore, we can use the shelving for something else. The wood is just gorgeous with no scratches, dings, or divots. It puts together very easily, too, so I can move the shelves around to accommodate my various decorative accents. It feels substantially like the "grown-up" furniture I've been wanting. Worth waiting for and delivered without a hitch.

These open-backed, tall bookcases work brilliantly in a small space. I purchased a returned custom-sized piece on clearance several years ago. I received many compliments on it. It was so space efficient, beautiful, and well made, that I recently made it a pair. Now I can arrange in various configurations. The shelves are adjustable and accommodate my over-sized books and art pieces, and the built.in levelers work for my 1920s home.

We ordered the bookcase in white oak and customized the size. Photos on website did a great job of capturing how beautiful this white oak bookcase is in person. We have purchased a few pieces of furniture from Room and Board because all have been well made and modern classics. Those pieces were walnut. I would argue the white oak wood is the most exquisite. So glad we chose that for the bookcase. Not a problem but I think it has one too many shelves so one is in storage. #sweepstakes

This is a gorgeous bookcase - we got it custom width to fit in as a built in and it looks fantastic! I love how high quality the shelves and frame is. 100% recommend!

We lined our front room with them to make it a library type space. I got walnut and open back and they look great with our white walls. I love them so much that I think I'll add a couple more in to make it a more complete space. #sweepstakes

I purchased two identical shelves. The overall quality of the pieces are great. They are sturdy and feel like they were built to last. However, the detailed quality is lower than expected especially considering Room and Board is known for its exceptional quality. The horizontal shelving boards came with a lot of imperfections and chips (3-4 boards were affected). On one of the units, there are noticeable dents in the bottom board. I reported this to customer service and they sent a 3rd party furniture repair service to my home. I didn't feel confident enough to let the repair person do the repair. He didn't know which furniture company the piece was from (even though the service request was from Room and Board). He said he would be able to repair it so it would look "reasonable" and said we should install the shelves so the defects would face the floor so you wouldn't see them.
