Cedric

Clean and modern design reminiscent of Japanese lantern. Easy to assemble.

Good

I purchased this lamp online and wish I paid closer attention to the reviews before purchasing. For the money, I expect better quality from Room & Board. This lamp is poorly designed and constructed: (1) The seams on the lamp shades, which are significant, do not line up. Leaves you with little room for error when positioning the lamp so that you don't see the mismatched seams. (2) There is no felt protection on the base, and the base has sharp edges. I had to install felt bumpers on the base, which are visible. (3) The lamp shades don't sit flat. Hoping I can MacGyver a solution. (4) The linen on the lamp shades is poorly wrapped and doesn't match, so the shades don't appear continuous from top to bottom. Bottom line: the concept of this lamp is cool, but the execution is poor quality. I expect better of Room & Board. Gets 2 stars only because the lamp turns on and off.

Would echo others' comments - have to be careful the shades are vertical but you can adjust them manually. Only reason I can't give five stars is because at a price point like this it should have felt underneath to prevent scratching surfaces that is placed on. I did this myself manually.

These lamps look fabulous but they have a major flaw. No matter how you try to adjust them, when you attach the upper and lower shades, the seams don't line up. For as expensive as these are they should have been designed more professionally to ensure the seams lined up. Very disappointed but I still like the overall aesthetic. We had to position them such that you don't readily see the misaligned seam. Hoping you take the feedback to get these redesigned.

Nice addition to my bedroom - Japanese lantern style, modern and classic at the same time.

I needed accent lighting for a console table in the corner of my dining room. The Cedric lamp was perfect. It's a quality lamp with simple elegance. The dimmer allows to set the mood, from a warm cozy ambience to bright enough lighting to enjoy meals. Although very easy to assemble, it took some work aligning the top shade straight. Beautiful lamp.

Absolutely beautiful statement piece! Only regret is not buying it sooner! Only one small issue - on the bottom of the lamp base, there's a small notch where pieces were constructed together. The notch is a tiny bit sharp and it scratched the wood table I put it on. Just be mindful to check that before you place the lamp. A little orange oil and a felt coaster solved that problem but the maker should look this as the notch was present on the original we ordered and then the replacement. R&B's customer service could not have been more lovely to work with. (5 stars!!)

Nice accent lighting

I purchased two of these lamps, one for each side of the bed. We wanted something that would provide adequate, but warm light in our room without having to turn on the overhead light. Two of these provide plenty of light, and when they're dimmed make for wonderful reading or mood lighting! Everyone comments on how unique and gorgeous they look. Took me about 4 minutes to assemble both lamps, including opening the package! Very happy with this purchase. #sweepstakes
