Emerson

We have purchased many pieces of furniture and two rugs from Room & Board over the years and have always been very happy with the quality—until now. Our Emerson cabinet was delivered about five months ago. It is attractive and provides useful additional storage, but we recently discovered several issues with the construction and installation. The large granite top was installed with only two small bumpers between the granite and the wood cabinet. We noticed that the granite was actually resting directly on the wood at both ends, so we used large tile suction cups to carefully lift the granite and install larger bumpers. When we lifted it, we discovered that the wood underneath was badly scratched at both ends. More concerning, the cabinet itself appears to have warped or sagged in the center. The spacers at each end make contact with the granite, while the spacers in the center do not, suggesting that the cabinet is no longer level. We have also noticed small black spots appearing on the labels of wine bottles stored in the wine refrigerator. We believe this may have been caused by the cabinet doors not being properly aligned, allowing the labels to rub against the cabinet. We have adjusted the doors and are hoping that solves the problem. Given our previous very positive experiences with Room & Board, we are especially disappointed by the build quality and installation of this cabinet. For a piece of furniture at this price point, we expected considerably better construction, quality control, and installation.

Our new Emerson Fridge Cabinet is perfect for our wine, glassware, and other tableware. We have freed up a significant amount of space in our kitchen and are comforted that our wine is in a temperature-controlled environment. The True refrigerator design is solid and meets all our needs. We were pleased to have a very knowledge of salesperson to support our decision. #sweepstakes
