Clemens

This was our first purchase with R&B. We were in the market for a comfortable and supportive l-sectional for our TV room. What began as a tireless for the right couch took an extremely surprising turn when we stumbled upon the Clemens in store, which provided us with a combination of modern styling paired with a comfortable yet supportive sit. We even tried it in another store a few months later and it felt just the same. After our multiple sits, we mustered the courage to buy. Delivery was smooth and timely (3 months with Mori Olive), and we finally had our biggest furniture investment ever. That's where the excitement ended. Back support was a huge criteria in our couch purchase. While we felt plenty supported by the couches in store, the couch that was delivered was severely lacking support in all the ways one needed to be held up by a couch. Only after two minutes did we begin feeling new discomfort. Our due diligence ranged from adding a variety of extra pillows, underseat cushions, stretches, posture exercises, and endless chats with AI. Ultimately, we knew this was beyond a "breaking-in" phase. The back pain was so bad that the best remedy was simply avoiding the couch altogether. Another thing we noticed was the quality of the build; when we would reach under the sofa we would constantly be getting scrapped by a plurality of staples that were sticking out (safety hazard anyone?). It's quality concerns like this that prompted my partner and I to question the value of R&B at the price point. After three weeks of observing our 33-year old backs simply disagreeing with the sofa, we decided to initiate the return. Customer service is acceptable but not mind blowing. In store reps are immensely helpful. Post-purchase customer service didn't really provide any solutions other than offering to return or exchange. Honestly, if R&B did not have the 90-day worry free return window with full refund available, I likely wouldn't buy from them again.

The clemens is a well made couch, and I liked it a lot when I first got it (ignoring the stark gaps between the cushions) However, as I began to spend more time on the couch i quickly became disenfranchised with it. The cushions very quickly lost their firmness, and the low backs on them made them deform to the point they didn't really provide any back support. I actually developed some back issues from this couch - maybe I spent too much time on it, but I don't really feel like I did. Support was not responsive regarding this, though I guess it does advertise itself as a "softer, pillowy" couch, so maybe I'm the one to blame. I went back and sat on every couch in the R&B showroom and the clemens is the only one like this. I'd recommend any other couch except this one, especially at this price point. I eventually got a third party sofa maker to create firmer pads for the existing cushions to make the couch usable for me.

The Clemens sofa has very quickly become the centre of family activity in our living room. The cushions are firm enough to support long sits, while plush enough to inspire the same. The configuration is helped by deep cushions, allowing three people to comfortably sit together and four if you are close... Highly recommend.

It's comfortable, nice looking. The fabric that I chose is terrific. I absolutely love the sofa and am so happy that I decided on this one.

We purchased this couch for our TV room. We needed a soft and deep couch that you can sink into but doesn't sink over time. We absolutely love the Clemens. Highly recommend.

We sat on the "deep" version of this couch in the store and it was by far the most comfortable couch we felt in the store. We were concerned because the deep would not have fit in our living room. Ordered the regular and we love it. This couch is soft and looks sleek in our craftsman style home. We got a Mori Charcoal fabric and it looks perfect. There is a small gap between cushions, but we are confident it will fill in with use.

Despite the very expensive price tag, the sofa is not well made. There is a lot of gap between the cushions.

This is by far one of the best sofas I've ever owned. It's incredibly comfortable, and the mori fabric is also perfect for dogs. We have a great Dane and she lays on the couch all the time. My only complaint is that it's too low to the ground and harder to get out of than I would like. But the comfort more than makes up for that fact. We tried every sofa at Room & Board (and quite a few other stores as well) and this was the hands-down winner for the entire family. This one in particular with the chaise is my wife's favorite reading spot in the house. #roomandboard #sweepstakes #comfycouch
