Beautiful wood quality
Comments about Linear Custom 78w 16d 65h Twelve-Insert Cabinet
I waited a few months for this, and it was worth it! I was tired of yarn living in plastic bins all over the house and project bags piled on the couch. This is a 3x4 unit and holds a lot! I opted for glass shelves because I wasn't storing anything heavy and the wood shelves R&B uses are THICK so you lose space with them. I love the roll out drawers, one contains my needle pouches and the other holds small projects. my only complaint is that the shelf peg holes do not go all the way up the inside walls of the cabinet. There are purposeful gaps where there are no pegs so I have weird shelf spacing for what I need.
Abel delivered it perfectly, placed it just where I wanted and installed the shelves to the height I requested.

Got this cabinet for my apt in the Ash Maple stain with stainless locks. Very useful and not too heavy looking. Very high quality craftmanship. Highly recommend.#sweepstakes

Poor lateral file construction
Comments about Linear Custom 67w 20d 32h Four-Insert Cabinet
The installer assembled the base to lateral file but cracked the base due to over size screws. Lateral had to be replaced. Then the locks to each file drawer was improperly installed with missing stopper. I wasn't able to pull out the key after I locked the drawers. I ended up I had to called in a locksmith to remove the metal bar behind each drawer and add a stopper to each lock. Room and Board wasn't able to solve the problem. I think it uses low quality installers.

I was surprised that the drawers are not soft-close like other cabinets I have purchased from room and board.

Comments about Linear Custom 67w 20d 32h Four-Insert Cabinet
I customized the door, drawer, and shelf options for this unit and it was well worth the wait. It is made extremely well and has all the storage I need. I furnished my whole professional office with Room and Board and they do not disappoint!

terrible disappointment
Comments about Linear Custom 51w 20d 38h Three-Insert Cabinet
We were so excited about our custom office storage in maple. However, the piece arrived with a splotchy finish. The wood feels totally bare in some spots, as if production was rushed and incomplete. It has been over one month and our issue has still not been resolved by Room and Board

Greatly disappointed with wood finish and quality
Comments about Linear Custom 83w 25d 38h Five-Insert Cabinet
The biggest issue on the cherry wall unit is the finish. Oil and wax is used instead of a lacquer which would have offered significantly better protection and zero maintenance. The oil and wax requires a MINIMUM of annual oiling and waxing which is a pain particularly for a large furniture piece. The oil and wax finish was very poorly done with much of the wood appearing dry and dissimilar in appearance to those areas with better sealing. When I notified customer service they said that this batch of wood must have been drier than most and I would have to do oiling and waxing on Day 1 of ownership. The wood is very rough in many places not having been sanded smooth. There are several reviewers commenting as well on the poor finish with oil and wax upon delivery, improper sanding resulting in roughness, and the need for ongoing maintenance every year or more.
The two large drawers wobble horribly. They do not glide on the tracks.
There was an abundance of production wood dust all over the cabinet and very dirty glass shelves requiring a thorough clean. The large tabs for handles on the Linear are bulky and unattractive to my eye and are hard to use since there is no indentation for your fingers. There were five gouges in the wood and four misaligned holes drilled for the shelves.
I recently ordered two lovely cabinets in the Copenhagen product line that are fault free with large smooth gliding drawers and a perfect zero maintenance finish done in lacquer that I'll exchange the Linear for. There are no rough spots in the Copenhagen's wood and the overall quality of the different tracking hardware used for drawers and pulls is significantly better. The woodworking is also superior. The satin sheen of the lacquer seems more clean and modern in style versus the rustic style of an oil and wax finish.
