I have a home filled with amazingly beautiful Room and Board furniture. I've had pieces for years with no problems. This item; however, was most disappointing. The cabinet had to be returned the first time due to poor craftmanship. It looked like the wood slats were placed in strips making it looked striped. The wood actually cracked on the top left about 8 inches after just 1 year. It was replaced and while the replacement (same item) was better, it looked striped also. It is difficult to open because the handles are too tiny to grasp for the amount of effort needed to pull it open.

Great warm walnut media console

Bought this for our master bedroom for below a 65" tv. The 72" size is perfect with the 16" depth. Substantial but not too heavy. Was a bit worried the walnut would be a cool but is more neutral/warm. The door sticks just a smidge but expecting it'll loosen up over time. #sweepstakes

Stain fades away very fast

We ordered the Walnut and within 2 years patches of stain faded away. The issues is that it fades away very unevenly. It's well built, but just don't buy the walnut.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Your cabinet is made from solid walnut wood and is not a stained piece, only a clear lacquer over natural wood. The wood does appear very dry in that area and could benefit from an application of Howard Products Feed-N-Wax Wood Polish.

As with all the furniture I have purchased from Room and Board, the craftsmanship is superb. The maple wood with shell stain is beautiful. There is ample storage in the cabinets and drawers. The piece is sleek and modern and is the perfect console for our new 75 inch TV. I couldn't be more pleased with our purchase!

We had the design team furnish our new apartment and this is my favorite piece. It has wonderful storage space, and it's sturdy enough to hold a very large TV (83 inches!)
